Frequently asked questions

Where is Winslow’s Catering Mountain View physically located?+

Our commercial kitchen and primary operations are in Pleasanton, California. We do not maintain a customer-facing restaurant or storefront in Mountain View. Our team prepares food at the commercial kitchen and travels to the client’s office, home, campus, or venue.

Which Peninsula and South Bay communities do you serve?+

We regularly consider catering requests in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Menlo Park, Stanford, and surrounding Bay Area communities. Availability depends on the exact address, date, order size, service style, and venue logistics.

How early should I contact you about an event?+

All catering requires at least 72 hours’ notice. Five to 14 days is helpful for many office orders and smaller gatherings, while large staffed events should ideally be planned one to two months ahead. Highly requested weekends and holiday dates may close sooner.

What minimums apply to delivery, boxed meals, and full service?+

Most drop-off orders have a $400 food minimum. Boxed meals require at least 25 meals, and most full-service or wedding packages begin at 25 guests. Custom-event minimums can vary according to the date and scope.

How do I request a custom proposal?+

Complete the contact form with your date, address, guest count, meal time, desired service, and any dietary, beverage, rental, or floral needs. You can also call 877-789-4377. Straightforward delivery orders may be placed directly from the online menu.

When can I expect a response after submitting the form?+

We aim to answer complete quote requests the same business day. More detailed events may require follow-up questions before accurate options and pricing can be prepared.

Can I inquire before I know the final attendance?+

Yes. Start with your best current estimate. The proposal can be revised later, subject to availability and the final-order deadline. Major attendance changes may affect food, staffing, rentals, transportation, and pricing.

What venue information should I include for a Mountain View event?+

Share parking and loading instructions, security procedures, stairs or elevators, access codes, long walking distances, staging areas, power or water availability, and firm setup and departure times. These details help us accurately plan labor and arrival timing.

How do I decide between drop-off and full-service catering?+

Choose drop-off when your group can arrange the food, monitor service, and handle cleanup. Choose full service when you want our team to manage setup, presentation, replenishment, guest service, and breakdown of the catering areas.

Can attendants be added to a delivered catering order?+

Yes. Attendants can assist with setup, presentation, buffet monitoring, and catering-related cleanup without converting the event to formal plated or family-style service.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions and serious allergies?+

We offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free choices. Provide exact quantities and identify the specific allergen. Because common allergens are handled in the kitchen, complete isolation cannot be assumed unless expressly confirmed.

How much should I budget for Mountain View catering?+

The amount depends on the menu, guest count, service level, venue access, staffing, and rentals. Drop-off catering often starts around $15 to $25 per guest, boxed meals start at $18.75, and full-service events may begin around $45 per person before upgrades and additions.

What officially confirms my event date?+

After the quote is approved, we send a catering agreement for signature. Orders over $3,000 also require a 50% deposit. An inquiry or unsigned proposal does not reserve availability.

May I change the menu or guest count after booking?+

Yes. Menu and attendance updates are generally accepted until 10 days before the event. After that point, requested revisions may not be possible because ingredients, staffing, equipment, and production have been committed.

Are private tastings offered?+

Yes. Mobile tastings are complimentary for confirmed weddings. They may also be purchased before signing, with the charge removed from the final invoice when the wedding is subsequently booked.

Do you provide wedding catering near Los Altos, Menlo Park, or Stanford?+

Yes. Wedding options include staffed buffets, plated and family-style meals, appetizers, bartenders, cake, rentals, florals, and tablescape design. The exact venue address should be reviewed early so access and travel can be planned.

Can you manage recurring meals for local companies and campuses?+

Yes. We cater regular breakfasts, lunches, boxed meals, executive meetings, training days, and multi-day programs. Recurring Mountain View Catering and Stanford Catering schedules may qualify for a dedicated coordinator and locked pricing.

Can food, service staff, rentals, and florals be booked together?+

Yes. A proposal can combine catering, attendants, bartenders, tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, serving equipment, centerpieces, installations, and coordinated tablescapes.

Can you cater a rooftop, office, home, or space without a kitchen?+

Yes. Most events do not require an on-site commercial kitchen because the food is prepared beforehand. We may still need staging space, practical loading access, water or power, and a weather plan for outdoor or rooftop service.

Which payment methods and additional charges may apply?+

Payment may be made according to the order terms by credit card, check, or ACH. Delivery charges, a 4% handling fee, and an optional 3.45% credit-card processing fee may apply. Orders above $3,000 require a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due 10 days before the event.
